Due to misinformation about cybersecurity thousands of people are targeted by cyber attacks that target their, and not only their, privacy and data security, allowing the attacker to acquire sensitive information and data contained in everyday devices.

One of the major causes of these attacks is the lack of prevention due to misinformation, the complexity and terms used by insiders.

The inaccessibility of security, and therefore the exposure to the risks of cyber attacks, is often linked to the lack of accessibility of the means and tools to combat it. Those who are ‘not in the business’ find themselves untangling and drowning in a flood of information that they do not know how to decode because it is beyond their knowledge.

Worldwide, in 2018, cyber attacks increased by 77.8% compared to 2014 (source: Clusit). This problem is closely linked to the evolution of the digital society with the consequent spread of IT tools, in all areas of citizens’ lives, which leads to inevitable security consequences.

InsecureNet aims to promote and contribute to the development of the Cybersecurity sector in the following ways

  • solutions aimed at protecting the end user in the use of network services, using innovative techniques for the detection of attacks and vulnerabilities, through the development and creation of “Firew4ll” (Firewall For All), a hardware appliance with a simplified operating system derived from the fork of “pfSense” translated into Italian with related documentation (https://www.firew4ll.com);
  • simplification in the field of Cybersecurity through “InSecureLAB“, an information portal on Information Security with: articles, manuals, guides and videotutorials, completely in Italian, to inform users of devices connected to the network such as smartphones, computers, tablets, or even TVs, washing machines and smart fridges, of the risks they may incur, explaining the countermeasures to be taken using clear and simple language.
